How do I create a team?

After registration, you will have access to a main dashboard from which you can choose the section to play in between WAG (Women's Artistic Gymnastics) and MAG (Men's Artistic Gymnastics); the two sections operate identically, and it's possible to create a team in each section. For convenience, in this document, reference will only be made to the WAG section.
Once you've chosen the section, you'll be presented with a list of gymnasts with their first name, last name, the club they compete for, and a number ranging from ten to fifty: the number represents the "cost" in hand grips.
The "hand grip" is the virtual currency of the game.
We would like to clarify that the values have been assigned based on experience, according to the category in which the athlete competes (A1-A2-B), and above all, to allow Fantasy Gymnastics players (Fantasy Coaches) to make choices from multiple clubs.

You will have a budget of 225 hand grips to create your team of 8 gymnasts. You will need to carefully balance all values, trying to choose the most winning team for you.
You will also need to assign a name to your team, so you can identify it on the dashboard and in the rankings. Try to be original to stand out from other Fantasy Coaches!
Make your choices carefully: once the team is saved, you won't be able to freely modify it, but only delete and recreate it.
The hand grips that you don't use in this phase will remain in your wallet for potential future use during the championship.

How are the gymnasts lined up?

Once you've chosen the gymnasts for your team, and leading up to a national A and B series competition, you can select 6 to include in the lineup; those not selected will automatically be reserves.
You can change your lineup as many times as you want until the start of the competition, but changes will be locked after that time.
This process needs to be repeated before each competition, so you can also organize yourself with the reserves based on information from social media between one competition and another.
If, at the start of the competition, you haven't yet chosen a lineup, the same lineup from the previous competition will be automatically used if available. Otherwise, the system will assign you one randomly from those you have in your team.

And what if a gymnast withdraws?

If one of the gymnasts you own definitively announces their withdrawal, they will be removed from your lineups and your team. The hand grips value at the time of withdrawal will be refunded to you, and, added to any remaining balance in your wallet, should be used to purchase a new replacement gymnast. This will allow you to return to 8 and compete on equal terms with other Fantasy Coaches.
These, and any other eventual cases of gymnast removal (such as nationality changes or injuries), will always be evaluated individually at the sole discretion of the Fantasy Organizers.

How do I accumulate points?

Once you have set up your lineup with 6 gymnasts, you just have to wait for the team to compete.
For scoring calculation, the average between the highest and lowest scores obtained by each gymnast will be considered, according to the following scheme:

  • If the athlete competes on three or more apparatus, the highest and lowest scores will be selected for the average
  • If the athlete competes on two apparatus, the average of the two will be calculated
  • If the athlete competes on only one apparatus, only that score will be considered valid
  • If a starting gymnast does not participate in the competition, a substitution will be made with the first available reserve, for whom scores will be calculated according to the same scheme as in the previous paragraphs.
    Note: The reserve will only come into play if the starting athlete has not participated in the competition (no score entered). If there is even one score, even if it is 0.000, it will be considered valid.

The scores considered are those published in the official documents of the Italian Gymnastics Federation.

So, there will be one score per gymnast (the average defined according to the previous scheme), for a total of 6 scores, which, when summed, will give the total score of your team.
Note: Score updates do not happen in real-time. You will be able to see the updated ranking after the last competition during the week following the end of the competition. An informative banner on the team dashboard will indicate that processing is still ongoing.

Can I participate if the competition has already started?

While a competition is ongoing, it's not possible to modify the lineups of existing teams, but it's still possible to create a new account and its related teams, which can participate in an ongoing or concluded competition that hasn't been calculated for the rankings yet.
However, since they haven't received proper preparation, each team member will incur an additional fall from one apparatus: 6 points (one per gymnast) will be deducted from the team's total.

If I want to modify my team?

At certain limited periods during the championship, GymnasticsMarket sessions may be opened: during these times, it will be possible to change the gymnasts that make up your team.
To participate, it is essential to already have an active team and access, through the appropriate menu items, the specific exchange page: here, the list of gymnasts currently owned and the initial available budget will be shown. This budget is nothing but the remaining balance in the wallet after the initial team creation.
By selecting a gymnast from those on the team, she will then be chosen for sale: her value will be added to the available budget, and a list of gymnasts with a maximum value within that budget will be displayed. It will then be possible to choose from this list the gymnast with whom to make the exchange and confirm the operation through the "Exchange" button at the bottom of the page.
This operation can be repeated for multiple gymnasts, up to a maximum of 3, which can be exchanged simultaneously or at different times within the same GymnasticsMarket session. Once all exchanges are made, the team cannot be further modified.
The number of gymnasts sold must always be equal to the number of gymnasts bought, so as to always have exactly 8 in the team. Any unused hand grips will remain in the wallet.

Are there any bonuses?

Yes, it is possible to earn extra points for actions that the gymnasts will perform both on and off the competition field:

  • Travel Bonus
    If your gymnast posts a photo on social media during the journey to the competition venue, you earn +2 points
  • Fashion Bonus
    If your gymnast shows up to the competition venue wearing noticeably flashy slippers, you earn +2 points
  • Influencer Bonus
    If your gymnast mentions Fantasy Gymnastics in a video, you get +2 points
  • Gym Bonus
    If your gymnast posts a photo or video before or after training in the two days before the start of the competition, you get +2 points
  • Pajama Bonus
    If your gymnast posts (or reposts) a photo in pajamas while on a trip, you get +3 points
  • Live Bonus
    If your gymnast, when interviewed, greets or mentions Fantasy Gymnastics, you earn +5 points
  • Ferrari Bonus (in collaboration with Ginnasticando.it)
    If your gymnast brings a red accessory/object onto the competition field before, after, or during the competition, you earn +8 points
  • Selfie with Ilaria Bonus (For the entire Ancona stage and for the A1 series of the Ravenna stage)
    If your gymnast posts a selfie with Ilaria Colombo, they get +8 points
  • Ignorance Bonus
    This bonus leaves room for gymnasts' imagination to perform actions that, according to the Fantasy Organizers, can be deemed "ignorant". If deemed valid, this will earn you +5 points

The bonuses will be valid if they directly contain the tags of a Fantasy Gymnastics social media profile or if they are forwarded by a Fantasy Coach.

Can I invite a friend?

Through your profile page, you have the option to view and copy your personal invitation link: by sharing this link, anyone who signs up will receive a 10% discount on the immediate creation of their first team (note: the discount will not be applied if registration and team creation are done at different times); additionally, once they have saved a lineup for the first time, you will receive a credit of 2 hand grips to use in your next purchase (of any type: team creation, repurchase following the withdrawal of a gymnast, GymnasticsMarket; note: you will not immediately see the credit in your wallet, but it is calculated by the system at the appropriate time).
